Hello there! Ready for us? Lauren, Frode and Paul finally knocks on the door.

I have been waiting for this! Finally, Savoy will soon release a “best of” album. Savoy is A-ha songwriter/guitarist Paul Waaktaar Savoy’s side-project. The band contains Paul, his wife Lauren Savoy and Frode Unneland.

Since their debut album “Mary’s Comming” (1996) Savoy have released five albums. Savoy may not be well known abroad. The previous albums have only been released in Norway and in a few other countries. Savoy have never done any effort promoting their albums worldwide. They have a audience in Norway plus the the hardcore A-ha fans in the rest of the world. But now they are trying to change that:

- It will be a “Best of ” album for the Norwegian audience, while abroad the record is meant to be kind of an introduction to the band, explains Paul.

The new album is called “Savoy Songbook Vol. 1″. The previous albums have been recorded in Paul’s studio in the couples appartment on lower Manhattan. The new album have been finished, recorded and mastered in big studio surroundings at LoHo in New York. The production is bigger, so is the budget.

“Savoy Songbook Vol. 1″ will be a double album. One CD has new recordings – a mix of old and new songs, and the second CD has 14 of Paul and Lauren’s favorite Savoy songs, recorded between 1996 and 2006. The first single,”Karma Boomerang”, was released on April 13 in Norway
