Thrushes – Sun come undone

May 13th, 2007 by Lotte

Thrushes creates the kind of music that’s hard to put your finger on. I can’t really decide if I really like it, or if it’s just ok. The album “Sun come undone” doesn’t give many surprises, and I can’t say I know how to separate one song from the other. The album is mainly instrumental, with a kind of mysterious and sweet vocal. The vocalist has a beautiful and good voice that suits the music perfectly, but I think it sometimes drowns in both the chimes and the drums.

What could’ve been soothing and great music, rather becomes noisy and somewhat tiring at times. One of the songs on “Sun come undone” really appealed to me, though. “Into the woods” has an exciting melody and a fantastic vocal. I loved this song.

Thrushes consist of Anna Conner, Casey Harvey, Matt Davis and Rachel Tracy.
Listen to their music at the bands myspace.
