Emma Pollock
I’m highly addicted to the music of Emma Pollock these days. I’m not sure what it is with her music that touches me so deeply, but it does, and maybe it is ok not to try to define the reasons here? Emma might be better known as the singer of Glasgow’s The Delgados, and her solo-music makes me wonder if there was something I missed when I listened to her old band. The Delgados never made a huge impression on me, but after listening to her two-track single “Adrenaline” over and over again for about a week now, I am already convinced that I have to get my hands on her upcoming album. The album is called “Watch the fireworks” and will be out in september. Emma Pollock is signed to an old favourite label of mine, 4ad, and that’s kind of nice, because I haven’t been much of a fan of many of their releases the latest years. I’m really looking forward to this album. I just hope they will give us plenty of single-releases before september!
Here’s a song from the new album, “Limbs”, and you can listen to her wonderful single “adrenaline” on her myspace-page (btw, now I hear that the single reminds me of one of the more missed bands of my teenage-years, The Sundays). Oh, enough words, – here’s music!
Here’s a bonus, – a completely stripped down performance + interview (video):
…and another bonus, if you’re still reading…
Delgados – coming in from the cold (video)

it’s incredible that you didn’t enjoy such great albums like Hate and Universal Audio. I was lucky to hear them live in Madrid when they were about to split. Anyway, you’re right, Emma’s awesome! cheers, I enjoy very much your blog
