New songs from José González’ new album!

August 1st, 2007 by Knut

Jose Gonzalez

Sweden’s José González has uploaded two songs from his forthcoming second album “In Our Nature” to his myspace page. The album is due for release on September 26. On his own website, he says this about the new album:

”In Our Nature is an album that on the one hand is very accessible and speaks easily, and on the other has a darkness and a seriousness that more than often borders on what should be considered healthy.
- I like playing with symbolism. On this album I’ve wanted to bring out the primitive aspects of human beings.”

The songs, “Down the line” and “Killing for love” sounds very much like the JG we knew from his Veneer-album, but to me they sound more upbeat, beat-driven and with more additional instruments in the arrangements. José González sold 700.000 of the debut album Veneer with Platinum awards in UK and Ireland, and he’s been touring all over the world for the last 4 years. In August and September, González will be on tour in the US.
