I’m not going to say much. It’s Saturday and I have other things to do than to sit in front of my computer…
Visit the Friendly Noise-label, get their latest free mp3-single (2 songs + cover) and enjoy a perfect weekend with perfect music. This is the label’s description, and it is very accurate:
““Sol genom lövverket”. Medium tempo bossanova, sunshine, dreaming, careless, playful, innocent, melodic, romantic, wordless female vocals. “Hemlig ljudupptagning”. Syncopated waltz, dramatic, melodic, big brass section, repetitive guitar, wordless female vocals.”
Enheten för musik och melodi – “Sol genom lövverket” (= “sunshine through the leaves”, or something like that)
Enheten för musik och melodi – “Hemlig ljudupptagning” (=”secret sound recording”)
More free mp3-singles over at the Friendly Noise site.

The 5-piece rock band Melody Marshals from Stavanger, Norway, has been around in the local music scene for several years, but 2007 will be the year when they finally release their debut album. "Songs From A Tin Laboratory" will be in the shops from October 15, and I guess the album will get the band’s name out to more than a limited Stavanger-audience. Their sound is dark and melancholic, but at the same time highly melodic. When I listen to their songs, I’m reminded of bands like Muse, Mew and Placebo or more well known Norwegian bands like the Seigmen or Delaware. The first single from the album is called "Space Cobain", a song I bet will be a live favorite on future concerts. Speaking of concerts, - Melody Marshals will do a small tour in Norway to follow up the album release. You will find their tour schedule on myspace.

As some of you may remember, the Norwegian artist Egil Olsen won first prize the Norwegian short film festival for his music video to the song "Singer-songwriter" earlier this year. Now he’s back with a new song and a new video, and this time he has made the video all by himself.
This is not his first video-production, but it is the first time he has made an animated one. Egil Olsen is an excellent musician, but he’s very good at drawing, and he does it all with his own special style. This video was recently shown on the filmfestival in Volda, and it is now nominated for the best animated film for the animation film-festival in Fredrikstad. Egil Olsen’s new album will be released Oct. 15.
Egil is a kind man, so he always gives us some goodies for free.
Here’s the song:
