Lightspeed Champion is an artist that has sneaked his way into my heart bit by bit, and now I’m addicted to his music, completely addicted. I was one of those (few?) who never really got into his previous band, Test Icicles, but I adore his new project. The man behind LC is Devonte Hynes, and his new music is very different from what he did in Test icicles. He mixes influences from several different genres, and ends up with something that sometimes sounds very pop, sometimes very folky and sometimes like something I can’t put into any genre at all.  In january 2008 Lightspeed Champion will release his first album "Falling off the Lavender Bridge"  on  Domino Records.
