Kenneth Ishak - Silver Lightning From A Black Sky

Kenneth Ishak may be the best kept pop secret for the norwegian music audience. Fronting the powerpoppers Beezewax for over ten years, Ishak’s music is more celebrated in other countries (USA etc.) than in his homeland.
Hopefully that will change! His new solo album “Silver Lightning From A Black Sky” is a fresh indiepop experience that I have been so lucky getting my hands on. It’s due for release on monday November 5th. The first proof of his music skills is the new radio single “Don’t Touch My Brother” - a catchy up-tempo pop song with lyrics concerning the stress and strain of growing up. This song more or less sums up the mood of this album - Guitar based popsongs and lyrics with a great touch of melancholy. Strings by the swedes in Fläskkvartetten. Just listen to the bittersweet “Snakes in Grass”. Another great track is “New Rising Sun”. These are songs that hopefully will lead Kenneth Ishak to a broader audience. The album is recorded in Stockholm with Jörgen Wall as a producer.
