The Scourge of the Sea + some last.fm love

November 26th, 2007 by Knut

The Scourge of the Sea

I just have to say it again: I love Last.fm! I’ve found so many great bands through recommendations from this web service, and I’ve "met" so many great people with the same taste in music as me through the site. Why do I have to tell you this again? Well, – it could be because I just found another fine band through a recommendation from my last.fm-friends. I haven’t heard much from the band yet, and most of what I’m saying is based on just a couple of songs, – but what I’ve heard so far sound brilliant.

The band is called The Scourge of the Sea, a quintet from Lexington, Kentucky, and they play sweet, gentle popmusic with fine harmonies and good sing-a-long melodies. Sound references may be Some by Sea, Rogue Wave, Fruit Bats, The Softies and also a touch of early R.E.M., maybe…
They formed in 2004, and released their debutalbum "Make me armoured" in 2006 on alias records.

The Scourge of the Sea – Waterwings (from last.fm)

BTW, if you want to see what I’m listening to at the moment or if you want to be an eardrums-friend at last.fm, here are some pages for you:
