Just a short post today…
Here is the last mp3-single from the Friendly Noise label, – a Beach Boys-inspired (?) song for New Years Eve by the Swedish artists Testbild!:

Cold Mailman – The Great Escape

December 19th, 2007 by Ivar

Cold Mailman

The Great Escape by Cold Mailman is a sweet and fragile popsong by a young unsigned artist from Norway. I could compare the song to some familiar music that we have presented here at Eardrums, but I’ll leave it to your own imagination :) Cold Mailman is Ivar Bowitz togheter with some friends and they start to record a album early next year.

The Lovely Eggs

December 13th, 2007 by Knut

The Lovely Eggs

Sometimes I get this weird "WOW!" feeling when I hear new bands, – not often, but sometimes. It’s a lovely feeling, and for some strange reason most of the bands that WOW! me are from the UK. The Lovely Eggs is one of these bands that really WOW!’ed me the first time I heard one of their songs. My experience with the band is still fresh, or as the band say: "Just Hatched", so I haven’t heard many of their songs yet, but the one that started my love for this duo is WOW! enough on its own.

The Lovely Eggs are a boy and a girl from Lancaster, UK. According to their myspace, David Blackwell plays the drums, guitar, tambourine and other stuff. Holly Ross  sings , plays guitar, tambourine and  other stuff.  So, what’s "Other stuff"? I  wondered about that a bit too, but I guess you’ll get the answer if you browse over to the bands  myspace page and listen to their lovely christmas song "I’m going to build my snowman better than yours" (it’s available now on a very interesting christmas compilation on cherryade records called "A very cherry christmas 3").

Hope you’ll enjoy this as much as I do!

Top 60 albums I’ve loved in 2007 (Knut’s unranked and far too many favorites)

December 11th, 2007 by Knut

sxc.hu

I did not think I would make a year end list this year.
There have been far too many albums I’ve loved, and the task to pick 10 great ones seemed impossible. Another reason is that every year, I’ve used far too much time on the lists, and I don’t have that much time to spend on these things this year. It’s always frustrating to sit there for a long time and choose if this one’s better than that one, and to me it is a waste of time. But…. Our writer Sarah Wynona came up with a brilliant personal list yesterday, and suddenly I felt inspired.

I did not want to make a top10, but a list of  ALBUMS I’VE LOVED IN 2007. Some of them may not be considered great or best of the year seen from a comparable quality viewpoint, but to me these albums are the ones that has meant most to me this year. It’s a long long long list, and I’m sorry that I haven’t commented or added albumart or links, but I’m sure you understand why I haven’t ;-) .

Please comment if you see something you like or dislike here!
And… I did not want to rank any albums, but I’ve put the absolutely most loved ones in one list, and the very much loved ones in another list. Enjoy! (?)
