New artist on WeePOP! – Jacob Borshard

WeePOP!, one of my favourite labels, has a new release ready. This time, the 3 inch cd has two songs from Jacob Borshard on it, and as usual, the design and the cover is unique and the release is limited to 120 copies. The release is called "Coctail" and it is inspired by the popular 80′s movie with the same name (Tom Cruise, remember?). One of the tracks is a cover of The Beach Boys’ "Kokomo", and the other is an original track with references to every other song on the soundtrack of "Coctail"… The cover is drawn and designed by the artist himself, and when you unfold it, you will get a secret map of the Kokomo islands!
I haven’t heard this new release yet, but if you go to Jacob’s website at http://www.creebobby.com/, you can download both of his albums for free. I have only listened briefly to his latest ("The last brontosaurus" from 2006) and I really like his acoustic style and his wonderful lyrics. According to the site, he’s working on his new album, which will be released on his website by the end of 2008.
Here’s a song from his latest album, and if you like it, go over to WeePOP! and get yourself a signed copy of the new 3 inch single!
