One week after the first two volumes of our Autumn compilation “A Good Crop” was released (here), we are back with the last two volumes in the series. Thanks to everybody who has listened,commented, written about, recommended or played the compilation on their radioshows or podcasts! The compilation is free, and all the songs have been approved by the artists/the labels.
Volume 3 is a more laid-back, almost acoustic album, and volume 4 is a pop-album with some surprises, probably.

The covers for volume 3 and 4 are made by the German illustrator and musician Julia Guther and the Norwegian Me.

Finally! Here is the new Eardrums compilation, “A Good Crop - Eardrums Autumn Compilation 2008″. It’s free, and all the songs have been approved by the artists/the labels.The compilation includes 4 volumes (it will fill 4 cd-r’s), but I’ve decided to give you two this week and the last two next Tuesday. The reason for this is to avoid giving you an overdose of good music, and to ensure that the artists get the attention they deserve.

Like last time, I’m extremely proud of the cover art. The covers for volume 1 and 2 are made by the American painter/sculptor/illustrator Souther Salazar and the English Graphic artist and musician Alex Ostrowski.

The first two volumes of the compilation will be released  for free on this site TODAY, on the 23rd of September before the clock strikes 23:59 Scandinavian time, probably earlier. The zips are uploaded, and I’m just trying to get the document sizes a bit down + working on the blog posts for the release.

I just posted the full (almost) list of artists and songs from the upcoming Eardrums Autumn Compilation in a journal on Last.fm. The new 4 volume (!) album will be called “A Good Crop”, and the release will most probably be here on the site on September 23 (for free).

I’m considering putting it out in two batches, - two volumes one week and two volumes the week after. I haven’t decided yet, but I fear that such a huge number of songs may be too much to listen to in one go, and that some smaller bands may “drown” in the attention some bigger bands may get.

What do you think about splitting it up? I’d appreciate your opinion on this and also your thoughts on the artist list!
