Le Man Avec Les Lunettes with new album + concerts in Norway + Eardrums album participation… and they know a lot of languages too!

Le man avec les lunettes, the Italian band with the French name who sings in English and occationally have song-titles in Swedish will soon arrive NORWAY for a small tour.

Their new album “Plaskaplaskabombelibom” will be released on October 1st, and after a few listens I am convinced: This is great pop music, and the album is hiiiighly recommended!

Very melodic and full of warmth throughout the whole album. The songs are great, and the arrangements (especially the strings) and the feeling on songs like “I can’t get anything” is so wonderful to listen to, and at the same time it’s really interesting to listen. The arrangements are sometimes quite untraditional, and it is really refreshing that pop music can be made this way. It’s also nice to hear that they don’t hide away bad songs at the end of the album. The last song is one of my favourites, “The Lunch Boy”, a fine upbeat pop song with clever lyrics.

LMALL is influenced by bands like Belle & Sebastian, Blur, Beatles and Beach Boys, and I guess these bands are good references to how Le Man Avec Les Lunettes sound.

The Norwegian concert dates will be
13 sept 2008 Horten @ Student House
14 sept 2008 Oslo @ Cafe Mono
15 sept 2008 Bergen @ Phonofestivalen

Le Man Avec Les Lunettes will also be one of the bands on the upcoming Eardrums Autumn Compilation-album, which will be available for download here on this site in a week or two. Look forward to that one!

Here’s a song from the album, the one with the Swedish title:

Le Man Avec Les Lunettes – Se på stjärnorna (=Look at the stars)
