New beautiful video from Hauschka, “Morgenrot”
I want to present something really beautiful for you today, both for the ears and for the eyes. The German pianist/composer Volker Bertelmann records his wonderful music as Hauschka, and he’s been a favourite of mine for many years. His latest album “Ferndorf” is a must-have, the new mini-album “Snowflakes and Carwrecks” too, and so are all his previous works (spotify-link | Hauschka’s page in the FatCat shop). In fact, Hauschka is one of the very few artists I own the complete discography from, and I’m still buying everything he makes…
Check out this new video for the song “Morgenrot” (from the Ferndorf-album). The video is directed by Jeff Desom, a director from Luxembourg. It’s a piece of art.
Hauschka’s youtube page has several other gems for your eyes’ and ears’ pleasure. Be sure to check out the stunning short-film “Bloksky”, with Volker Bertelmann in the main role as Bloksky. This movie is also made by Jeff Desom. His videos from his live concert in Japan are also highly recommended. Very interesting to see how his prepared piano works.

Hello Knut.
I want to thank you ever so much for sharing this. Really. Absolutely lovely music that I am very grateful to you for gifting on your blog. The film accompaniment is perfect. Love it. I think I might be the future owner of Hauschka’s discography and will now be forced to blog a blurb on what I have just seen. Of course, I will put your name in *lights*. Smiling. Thanks again.
