I have set up some smart filters in my inbox now, and that’s how I found back this one. The email arrived during my holiday, disappeared for me, and was luckily found again (see my apology below).
It included some very nice popmusic from a Swedish band called Solander.
Solander is Fredrik Karlsson backed up by various people mostly from the Malmö underground scene, sometimes a full band and other times only a single cellist. The project has existed since 2005, and Karlsson has made music for several films and released 3 eps prior to this. On October 16, the label Tenderversion will release Solander’s debut album, “Since We Are Pigeons”, featuring members of the bands Fredrik, Vit Päls, Audrey, Scraps Of Tape, Testbild! and more.
In October Solander will be touring Sweden and also join Scraps Of Tape for a tour in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Check his myspace for details.
Here are some Solander-goodies for you:
Solander – Looking for gold (from the forthcoming album)
Solander – Prayer to God (Shellac cover)
….and now I feel the need to apologize to some of you:

Every day I drown in emails, I get a lot of emails where bands, labels or promo agencys tell me about their music, their releases or just say “Hi!” and “Check out our site!”. I love getting mail, but I have to admit that sometimes it is too much to handle for a person who blog as a hobby, not as a full time job. When my energy is low (as it often is) or when I’m busy doing other things than blogging, I don’t read all the promo-emails, just the obviously personal ones. I hate doing it like that, and I feel totally rotten when I don’t answer emails or when a band writes back and say they sent me their demo four weeks ago (and I don’t know that I have received it, but oops, there it is…). So, this is my big apology to all bands, people, artists, labels who have sent me songs, promos or emails:
I am really sorry! I don’t mean to ignore you.
It’s not always because I don’t like the music you send me, but it’s lack of TIME and ENERGY combined with a lot of emails screaming for attention. Often, I read an email and think “I have to do something with this band, they sound great!”, and then I think “but it must wait until later tonight or tomorrow”, BUT later tonight or tomorrow there are more emails to be read, and this band’s email is far down on my inbox-list. I don’t see it on my screen without scrolling down, and out of sight, out of mind. It’s a problem, I know. I have a horrible attention span and can’t do a lot at the same time, so SORRY!
Don’t stop sending me those letters, try again and I might find you. I found Solander.

superb band (at least, from the myspace songs)! thanks.
That shellac cover is great!
