Color your life with Twin Sister

Posted on by Knut in Recommended Releases, Songs | Comments Off

I’ve enjoyed Brooklyn’s Twin Sister‘s lovely EP “Vampires with dreaming kids” for some time now, and now the quintet has released a new EP, “Color Your Life”. The ep is free as a download from the bands website for 2 weeks, and you can preorder the cd or the vinyl-version from there now too. I’m playing it for the first time while I write this, and so far it sounds absolutely amazing. Get over to http://twinsistermusic.com/music/release/color-your-life/ and color your life, …

The UK lo-fi electropop-duo Victoria & Jacob will release their new single “With No Certainty” on April 5th on the small and interesting label Voga Parochia. Those of you who downloaded our free compilation “Birdsongs, Beesongs” vol.A will notice that “With No Certainty” is a renamed and quite reworked version of the song the duo participated with there, “Castle At Pendenni”. A wonderful song! I really like the way they have re-worked it too. The single will be released as …

Posted on by Knut in Recommended Releases, Songs | Comments Off

Wisdom Tooth, the bedroom folk-project of Meagan Day from San Francisco, has a new song available for download on her tumblr-blog. It’s called “I Found It”, and is a bit different than the other songs I’ve heard from her so far. On this one, she’s using both a keyboard and a drum-machine, in addition to her ukulele and her vocals. You can find the song here: http://wisdomtoothjams.tumblr.com/ I also strongly recommend you to download and listen to Wisdom Tooth’s other …

New video by Boy Genius – “Ramona Saves The Day”

Posted on by Knut in Other | Comments Off

Boy Genius has made a new video for “”Ramona Saves The Day” from their recent album “Staggering”. This is probably my favourite on the album, and it might even be my favourite BG song ever. Brilliant pop-music! The video is filmed and edited by their own drummer, Lisa Klimkiewicz, and all the footage is from the band’s US tour in January. Touring with Boy Genius certainly looks like fun! This summer, Boy Genius will do a few gigs in the …

Sóley – new solo-EP from Seabear member

Posted on by Knut in Bandprofile, Nordic music, Recommended Releases | Comments Off

Sóley Stefánsdóttir is one of the members in the Icelandic collective Seabear, and like her band-partner Sindri Már Sigfússon aka Sin Fang Bous, she has now taken a little step to the side of the collective and is ready to release her solo-ep “Theater Island”. Sóley describes her music on her myspace as “Piano with piano in it . then singing with singing in it.” and in many ways, this is a good description… It is piano with piano in …
