May was a wonderful month for music. Here are my favourite albums, singles and eps from last month. I think all of these were released last month, but I may be wrong for a couple of them. New single and video from Insect Guide – “Wasted”

Insect Guide‘s “Dark Days & Nights” is one of the songs I’ve played the most in May, and now the band has another single ready. It’s called “Wasted”, and will be released next Monday, on the 7th of June. “Wasted” may be my most played song in June… Great stuff! The album ‘DARK DAYS & NIGHTS’ will be released on Squirrel Records in August 2010.

Getting a life with This Many Boyfriends

Leeds-based quintet This Many Boyfriends will have a new 7-track EP out on Thee SPC in July, “Getting a life with” EP, and the opening track is already available as a free download-single on the label’s website. With the lovely “I don’t like you (‘cos you don’t like The Pastels)” the band show us where they have their roots. With a bandname taken from Beat Happening’s song “The This Many Boyfriends Club”, it’s easy to see where this is heading. …
