Those of you who have followed Eardrums for a while, may have heard a demo version of the song earlier, but this is the finished and final version of the song. This is the last single the band drops before the release of their second album “Relax; the mountain will come to you” on October 4. You can buy the single on iTunes …

Lovely! The EP is up for preorder on Shelflife’s website, and if you preorder the vinyl 10″, you will get the …

Still Corners – “Don’t fall in love”/”Wish” – new single and video

Posted on by Knut in Other | Comments Off

Tweet http://vimeo.com/13994238 Still Corners have received a lot of positive reviews for their song “Endless Summer” from the Fierce Panda compilation “Gruff Trade”, and I couldn’t be happier for that! They really deserve every positive word they get.  I’ve loved this band since they released their debut ep “Remember Pepper” in June 2008. The band also participated on our own “Summer’s Here!” compilation the same year. Now Still Corners have a new single out, the lovely double A-side “Don’t Fall …

Perfect popsongs from Seapony

Posted on by Knut in Bandprofile, Recommended Releases, Songs | 4 Comments

Tweet Seapony is a new project from Transmittens‘ Jen and Danny + Ian, and they make the loveliest pop-songs! The Seattle trio have just released their first EP for free on Bandcamp, and it features 4 really good songs. My favourites are the stunningly beautiful opener “Dreaming” and “I really do”, with its sweet vocals and twangy guitars. Seapony has the rough pop-power of bands like Dum Dum Girls, Veronica Falls or Best Coast, but they also remind me of …

Tamaryn – “Love Fade”

Posted on by Knut in Bandprofile, Recommended Releases, Songs | Comments Off

Tweet San Fransisco’s Tamaryn will release their debut full length entitled The Waves September 14th on Mexican Summer. I’ve been waiting for a full album from this band since I heard their wonderful True Panther Sounds single Mild Confusion/Light Shadows, which I liked a lot. The duo play some kind of melodic dream pop, with lovely vocals from Tamaryn herself. As a vocalist she reminds me of Toni Halliday of Curve (now in Chatelaine), and that shouldn’t be a bad …

Tears Run Rings – “Distance”

Posted on by Knut in Other | 6 Comments

Tweet The new Tears Run Rings album “Distance” makes me remember all the good things about the late 80s/early 90s. The album starts with the song Happiness 3 and ends with Happiness 4, and that sums up my feelings about this record. It’s an amazing album. Their lush, dreamy sound reminds me of old favourites like Pale Saints, Slowdive, Lush, Cocteau Twins and The Boo Radleys, and it’s done so good that I’m almost shivering of joy. The vocals of …
