Taking another break (- and the reason for it)

So… My posts here on Eardrums are getting fewer and fewer, and the queue of unread and unanswered emails is huge (1557 emails in my inbox at the moment). I am really sorry for this, and especially sorry to all the people who write to me and get no answer. Those of you who keep an eye on our label, EardrumsPop, have seen that the frequency of our releases also have changed in 2011. I’m also a lot less active on Twitter, but I am still there.

The reason is mainly that I have some health problems that have been difficult to deal with recently. I am suffering from several  chronic diseases, and low energy levels have made it difficult to run the blog and the label. I need all the energy I have just to function in my family and for the stuff that needs to be done in my daily life.

The label is still active, thanks to Tim and Stefan, but my role has been reduced to some kind of consultant instead of a very active participant. I do still listen a lot to music, but there are more of the  times when the only thing I need is silence and rest. Hopefully this will be a temporary situation.

I have been thinking of closing down the blog, but have come to the conclusion that I will leave it here, in case better times are waiting in front of me. There will not be many posts here, and if you send me an email, I will probably read it, but answers are unlikely. I am still on twitter, and it’s much easier for me to tweet about a good band or release than write a blog about it. Follow me @eardrums on twitter, and I will tell you about my latest finds there.

I am so sorry to hear about your poor health and wholeheartedly hope that it improves. I just wanted to drop a line to thank you for having kept this blog, through it I have found some of my most favorite music and subsequently passed it along to many a smile and mix-tape. I found your blog while at University in Philadelphia, PA, followed it through living in San Diego, CA and am now living Chicago, Illinois. I have passed on songs and groups I have found here to friends all over the world. Quite a legacy. I’ve been behind on checking in this past year, but I am going to make sure to thoroughly enjoy the posts you’ve left. I hope this note makes you feel just a little bit today.

Much appreciated from a fellow lover of music and admirer of your impeccable taste,
    M.
PS – I wish Spotify was available in the States so I could see that list!
