Posted on by Knut in Love | Comments Off

Tweet   photo by  Debs (ò‿ó)♪ Another week is close to the end, and that means that we have got another “Loved Songs” Spotify playlist for you. The list contains mostly new songs, songs from new releases – or older songs that recently have been added to Spotify. I have sneaked in a few old favourites as well, but most of them have been re-released in deluxe editions the last week, so they are kind of recent favourites as well.  Hope …

Tweet Baffin Island, the collaboration-project between The Very Most and The Hermit Crabs, has made a video for their lovely song “You make two weeks two days”. Dum Dum Girls – “Bedroom Eyes” (video and album stream)

Posted on by Knut in indiepop | Comments Off

Tweet I must admit that even if I loved the debut-album from Dum Dum Girls, those songs doesn’t even get close to the new ones from the band’s upcoming Sub Pop-album “Only in Dreams”. It sounds more focused, and both the melodies and the vocals seem to come a lot more forward, which is a very good thing in my book. “Bedroom Eyes” is the new video and single from Dum Dum Girls. You can stream the full album via …

Here’s another song from the album, “Big Baby”, and this one is available for free download via Soundcloud: Spectrals – Big Baby by Slumberland Records

Tweet 16-year old Amanda Mair is the latest signing of Sweden’s Labrador Records, and she has a new single out now called “Doubt”.  I miss the “Labrador sound” in her music, but other than that, it’s a really nice pop-song. What do you think? Amanda Mair – Doubt

Young Romance

Posted on by Knut in indiepop | Comments Off

Tweet Paolo and Claire are Young Romance.  They used to call themselves The Momeraths, and made some gorgeous songs and EPs using that band-name, but now it’s all about Young Romance. According to the press release, the two are inseparable. “They live together, write together, finish each other’s sentences and second-guess what the other’s going to say next. Sweet, charming, funny, and entirely self contained, they can bicker and joke with each other for hours on end, splendidly isolated as …

Bands: Tag your mp3s!

Posted on by Knut in Other | Comments Off

Tweet   photo by  futureshape  I often get mp3s from both smaller bands or labels and from promo-agencies, and sometimes the files are not correctly tagged. This is a real problem, both for me and for the band, who lose a lot of promotion because of this. One thing is that I often trash badly tagged files without even listening to them. More importantly, I often download stuff one day and listen to it later, – and when I get 10 …
