Knife Pleats is the newest project from indiepop veteran Rose Melberg (Tiger Trap, The Softies, Go Sailor, Gaze, Imaginary Pants, PUPS, several solo records), and their debut album “Hat Bark Beach” is a lovely, melodic and energetic set of songs. I love the vocals and harmonies on this one, and the sharp contrast to the edgy, fuzzy guitars and pounding drums. Great songs!
As a fan of good cover art, I must also mention that this is one of the better ones, with a cover based on the painting “Blast Off!” by Amy Greenan.

The album is released by WIAIWYA in Europe and Lost Sound Tapes in the rest of the world. It is available digitally through the Knife Pleats Bandcamp.
