Norwegian five-piece Dråpe has been one of my favourites for some time now. They made some magnificent songs for their debut album, and today their second album “Relax/Relapse” arrived on Bandcamp. The official release is tomorrow, 9th October. I’m listening for the first time now, and it sounds amazing. Sorry, I said it wrong: AMAZING. In capital letters.
Their music is very airy, dreamy pop with psychedelic 60s influences, and they have a lot in common with bands like Tame Impala and Beach House. Playful, always developing soundscapes and melodies and very creative arrangements, while still keeping it very much POP. You will also hear a lot of dreampop and shoegaze elements in their music. Have a listen to the full album below, and the video for their single “My Friend the Scientist” is at the end of this post.
