Well, this is the perfect pop album I have waited for!

Model Village is a 6-piece pop band from London and Cambridge who make delightful popsongs, and 10 of these songs are put together on their new album, “Healing Centre”, which is released today. It’s full of very good melodies, and their two very good vocalists make these songs shine. My favourite song is probably the emotional “Claude loves Marcel”, but there are so many good songs on this one, and the way they have put together the tracklist with a good mix between female- and male-led vocals makes it a very varied album not easy to grow tired of.

The band sites  Jim O’Rourke, Prefab Sprout, Yo La Tengo, Steely Dan, Red House Painters, and Camera Obscura as inspirations, and I think I can hear some Belle and Sebastian influences in there as well.
