Cavern of Anti-Matter is a Berlin-based trio featuring Tim Gane (Stereolab), Joe Dilworth (ex Stereolab, Th’ Faith Healers) and Holger Zapf. Those who know me, probably also know that I am a big fan of Stereolab, and I have also had some very fine moments listening to some of Th’ Faith Healers releases, especially their Lido album from 1992. So this trio is very interesting for me.

They have just released a new single, “Melody in High Feedback Tones”, and a debut album “Void Beats / Invocation Trex” will be out in February on Duophonic. The album will also feature contributions from Deerhunter‘s Bradford Cox, Spacemen 3‘s Sonic Boom, and Mouse on Mars‘ Jan St. Werner, and as far as I understand, it will – like the single – be instrumental

Musically, it is not too far from Stereolab; krauty, motorik beats, spacy, dreamy sounds and always interesting melodies
