Norwegian artist Soda Fountain Rag has been one of my favurites for many years, and I am so excited to present a new song from her here on Eardrums Music today. This new track “Love Song for the Geek” includes everything I love about Soda Fountain Rag: The amazingly catchy melodies that will stay in your head for a long time after you pressed “stop” on your player; the whimsical, bittersweet, intelligent and “how did she come up with that??” lyrics; the charming and lovely vocals of Ragnhild Hogstad Jordahl. It’s a great track, and I am so happy that SFR are back again!
Ragnhild herself describes the song like this:
“Hm, I don’t quite know what to say about the song (as you know I’m soooper lousy at that), but it’s really just about all those things that some of us loved to do and cared a lot about as kids, but that the other kids just made fun of or laughed at and made us feel stupid, even though we were right all along because stars, planets, and dinosaurs are super cool.”
It’s been a while since her latest album was released, the wonderful “Reel Around Me”, which came in 2010, but a new album is planned for release next April on We Were Never Being Boring. Can’t wait to hear it!
