New video from Tigercats + an interesting compilation from Fortuna POP! and Slumberland Records
16th August 2016

I love Tigercats, and I have loved their music even before they became Tigercats. I am such a hipster
. I discovered the music of singer/guitarist Duncan Barrett when he was the vocalist in the amazing Esiotrot, and we released the wonderful songs of Tigercats’ other vocalist and keyboardist Laura K on our label EardrumsPop
.

You can find videos of both of them below. But let’s focus on Tigercats and Fortuna POP! and Slumberland now
.

Tigercats’ new video is a  live version of “Rent Control”, recorded and filmed in Soup Studio, London, UK. It’s a wonderful song, and it is so great to see a band clearly having a lot of fun playing it. The studio verion will be included on the compilation EP, “Continental Drift”.

The EP is released as a collaboration between Slumberland and Fortuna POP!, and features four of my favourite bands: Mercury Girls, The Spook School, Wildhoney and Tigercats, who all contribute with 2 songs each. The EP will be released on August 26, and if I am not wrong, this will sadly be the last release from Fortuna POP!, who annouced on this years’ Indietracks festival that they will close their doors after more than 20 years in the service of brilliant indiepop.

Track Listing:

1. Mercury Girls – Holly

 2. The Spook School – Sometimes I Hide From Everybody
