Elefant Records have recently started a really interesting series called “Reworked by”, which features the label’s bands remixing each others’ songs. The releases will come as limited edition 500 copies 7″ transparent vinyl with free MP3s, and they are also available digitally and for streaming. So far, there are tw records out in this series, “Attic Lghts Reworked by La Casa Azul” and “The Primitives Reworked by Modular“. I am especially fond of the latter. It includes “Purifying Tone” and “Lose The Reason” in two versions (with vocals and instrumental), and both Reworks keep the essence of both bands, – the great melodies, guitar riffs and vocals of The Primitives and the spacey, cosmic synth-world of Modular. Brilliant!
