I have always believed that Detective Agency was a Swedish band, – maybe because they once released a song called “Du Och Jag”, have a love for ABBA and make music that they – in my ears at least – sound like a good Swedish jangly indiepop band. Today I have learnt that they are a band from Seattle, and that only Ulrika, their drummer, is from Sweden

The album features both new and older songs, including favourites of mine like “Daggers” and “Lightbulb”. My new favourite song is this one, “Why Do I Try”, which is absolutely gorgeous, with its boy/girl vocals, wonderful harmonies and infectiously catchy melody. Great!
